Autumn news letter

Congratulations to Jaie one of our instructors on her magnificent dressage win leaving other competitors behind by 13%. Her horse Neon is quite a character and obviously has outstanding ability.

Sad news as we are saying goodbye to Hugo and Quinn, Janice and Dave’s horses. They have to move abroad. We hope Hugo and Quinn can learn another language quickly!

King and Belle have been out of action, but are nearly ready to come back into work. So those riders who love to ride them don’t have to wait much longer.

What a relief Rio has some new treatment for her summer allergy that gives her asthma symptoms. A human asthma pump administered through a small mask that goes over her nostrils has been a big help to her. Those of you who have allergies will know how she felt!

We have introduced some new events this summer. Our first mock hunt for some years was a baptism of fire for our riders but was enjoyed by them all. We had a couple of very stiff horses the next day; they obviously enjoyed themselves too much.

Teenagers camp 24hrs a day at the stables. Plenty to do and learn, plus lots of riding. Luckily the rain held off for the campers. Pony Club students are achieving badges & tests.

For those who don’t mind long hours in the saddle a picnic day ride was organised, we had two rides, a fast ride and a slow ride that met together for the picnic. After the picnic the two rides went their separate ways and made their way home.

We have some riders who our keen on jumping just now, but have realised that horses don’t take themselves around a course of jump. Time to raise their game if they want clear rounds!! All good fun and we can see the progress they’ve all made.

Wednesday evening summer hacks have been well supported and most enjoyable.

Coming Up in Autumn

Beach ride – Pony Club – Mini Hunter Trial – Dressage comp – Stable Days – Clear Round Jumping – Day Rides – Mock Hunt – Show Jumping Lesson (with Show Jumping Trainer) – Dressage Clinic - Showing Clinic – Wednesday Night Fun Rides – Ladies Morning Coffee Ride – Thursday Night Adult Class

A new aspect to our services we have introduced is non-riding training. Clients enjoy fresh aur and taking exercise. The mere fact of patting a horse is proven to lower blood pressure. Bonding with the noble horse is the best stress buster!
